Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 16, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Exiting AI LLC ("Exiting AI," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information when you visit exiting.ai (the "Site") or otherwise interact with our lead‑generation services (the "Services"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms & Conditions.
Key point up‑front: We are a lead‑generation platform for owners who want to sell their businesses. The information you provide is shared with licensed third‑party business brokers and M&A advisors so they can evaluate and contact you. We are paid by those brokers if—and only if—your deal closes. You never pay Exiting AI directly.
1. Information We Collect
We collect three main categories of data:
Identifiers – such as your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address, and cookie ID.
Business information – such as company name, industry, revenue, EBITDA, ownership structure, and valuation expectations.
Internet/technical data – such as device type, browser, pages visited, session timestamps, and coarse geolocation inferred from your IP address.
We gather this information directly from you (for example, when you complete a form), automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and through our service providers (see Section 3). We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers or precise GPS data).
2. How We Use Your Information
Lead routing – to send your submission to one or more screened brokers who may wish to represent you.
Compensation tracking – to record referrals so we can earn a success‑based fee when a transaction closes.
Communications – to answer inquiries and send transactional or marketing messages (calls, texts, emails) where you have given consent.
Analytics & site improvement – to measure traffic, diagnose problems, and improve the Site and Services.
Legal & compliance – to detect fraud, enforce our Terms, and comply with applicable laws or court orders.
3. How We Share Information
We disclose personal information only as described below:
Brokers / M&A advisors – so they can evaluate your opportunity, contact you, and potentially represent you in a sale.
Service providers – companies that host our Site, deliver email or SMS, provide CRM or analytics, maintain cookie‑consent tools, or otherwise help us run the business. They are contractually bound to use data only for us.
Affiliates and successors – if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
Legal authorities – when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), transferring your data to a broker in exchange for a success fee may be considered a “sale” or “sharing.” You can opt out—see Section 7.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and local‑storage objects to:
Remember your preferences and form entries.
Measure Site performance through analytics tools.
Facilitate advertising campaigns on third‑party platforms.
A banner appears on your first visit letting you (a) accept all cookies, (b) reject non‑essential cookies, or (c) customize settings. You can change your choice anytime via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer. Blocking cookies in your browser may cause parts of the Site to malfunction.
5. Data Security & Breach Notification
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Nonetheless, no Internet transmission or storage system is entirely secure. If a breach occurs that compromises your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant regulators in accordance with applicable U.S. data‑breach laws.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for the longer of (a) five years after your last interaction with us or (b) the statute of limitations for contractual claims, unless a shorter or longer period is required by law or you exercise a deletion right. Aggregated or de‑identified data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah), you may have the following rights:
Right to know/access – request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to delete – ask us to erase personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
Right to correct – request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing – prevent us from disclosing your personal information to brokers or others in a way that is deemed a “sale” or “sharing” under state law.
Right to opt out of targeted advertising and analytics cookies – exercise via the cookie banner or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
Right to opt out of marketing calls/texts – reply STOP to any SMS or email privacy@exiting.ai.
Right to nondiscrimination – we will not deny services or charge different prices if you exercise a right.
How to submit a request: Email privacy@exiting.ai and indicate which right you wish to exercise. We will verify your identity using the information we have on file and respond within the timeframe required by law.
8. TCPA & Do‑Not‑Call
By providing a telephone number, you consent to receive marketing calls and text messages (including via automated technology) from Exiting AI and its broker partners. Message and data rates may apply. You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to a text or contacting privacy@exiting.ai.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete the information.
10. Third‑Party Sites & Services
Our Site may link to websites or apps not controlled by Exiting AI. Their privacy practices govern any information you provide to them. We encourage you to review their policies.
11. International Users
We operate in the United States. By using the Site from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and to its storage on U.S. servers.
